Echlin, Inc. 1993-1997
George Yager Design

Echlin was a manufacturer of automotive parts for the secondary market worldwide. I photographed its annual report from 1993 until 1997, when it was acquired by another corporation. Each year presented different aspects of the company, focusing on its production, marketing and distribution strengths as well as the loyalty and support of its suppliers, employees, clients and end users.

Each year the designer George Yager, client Paul Ryder and I traveled across eastern America and, on a couple of occasions, to England to create images that visually supported the President's message and the financial statements.

I was originally brought to the project because of my use of strong composition and color in industrial situations. The relationship grew and evolved creatively to encompass different concepts over the next four years. The last book involved portraits of six loyal customers in their business environments and stylized, playful, studio shots of twenty colorful employees located throughout its work force.
